Mindful Mountain Yoga Lecture and Practice Mentorship for Yoga Teacher Certification at Mindful Mountain Yoga studio!
This 30 week series recognizes yoga practice and study to qualify the participant for yoga teaching in Virginia and other states. Mind-body movement is a study which benefits anyone wanting to deepen their practice, or with interest in understanding of how mind, body and spirit fit together.
Yoga teacher training can be prohibitively expensive. Our studio offers a different approach, at a much lower cost to the student. It is mentorship typical of traditional yoga training before it became a nationally regulated program. Certification offers ongoing support beyond completion and the potential for teaching at our studio.
Tuition for this course can be paid in incremental payments of up to 4 installments, totaling $980. There are homework requirements (at home posture practice, reading & study), and regular attendance at a group yoga class.
Yogis who are not pursuing teaching, can attend individual lectures to deepen their understanding. The lecture topics emphasize anatomy and physiology, as well as traditional yoga philosophy. By the program's end we grasp the postural workings of muscles and bones, and functioning of organs and different body systems (i.e. nervous, respiratory), and how they work together.
Everyone brings their own talents to yoga teaching. We try to bring out individual strengths and interests. We have a lot to cover and it's exciting to embark on this journey.
Our teacher training offers: breathing practice instruction (pranayama), understanding meditation with different mindfulness techniques, and how yoga philosophy can be understood in today's western society. We address teaching styles, hands on practice in leading group and individual classes, how to modify postures for limitations, and yoga practice as a healing modality which can benefit illness and injury. Attention is given to posture precautions and the prevention of injury. Guest teachers will offer their own insights and knowledge.
